What Does the Bible Say About Lending? — Apostle Winston Joseph, Ph.D
Greetings, Let’s meditate today on...
Proverbs 22:7…. “and the borrower is servant to the lender that means the moment a person borrows the spirit of servanthood has come upon him;” That means a boundary is put in his life.
In other words, the lender is blessed 100 times or more, and the blessing of God that was supposed to go to the borrower is now booked for the lender and also borrowers are limited to the money that is borrowed until he returns what he borrowed. The word says in Psalms 118:7 “The LORD is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies….”
This boundary is put because he has lifted his eyes from the Lord. (i.e the unlimited helper to the limited lender and now he cannot look in triumph over his enemies) The word says Psalm 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in Man. Notice the word “better”… So it is better because the person who takes refuge in the Lord becomes unlimited. Also in Acts 20:35…. Lord Jesus himself said: it is more blessed to give than to receive. Why? Because the Giver is Unlimited and the Receiver is Limited. So never have the attitude of the borrower.
Sometimes people think “they can borrow money from anywhere and get away without returning it” but they do not understand there are spiritual consequences attached to it. Confess with me now…
I’ll never be a borrower but always a lender, so I am always unlimited. Therefore, I declare Diamonds, Golds, Rubies, and Prosperity is mine and will follow me all the days of my life.
