The second role of the Holy Spirit
Put a seal on you after you are saved.
To understand the above-mentioned role of the Holy Spirit, let us read Ephesians 1:13, 14 “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession — to the praise of his glory.”
Who has put this seal?
After we are saved, it is the job of the Holy Spirit to put a mark and a seal upon us which cannot be broken for eternity. It is like a packet of the courier company that is sealed to be opened at the destination — no one can open it on the way unless you decide it and you are sealed exactly like that i.e., your salvation is sealed until you reach the destination- that is ‘Heaven’! Not only He seals you for heaven but constantly reminds you that you have an inheritance in heaven. So, He is the Spirit of hope who reveals Heaven to us without having seen it. Thus, every believer has a hope because of the Spirit of hope living in each one of us. But the unbelievers do not have any hope.
That is why, we can say that an unbeliever has a hopeless end but a believer has endless hope!
Testimony:
Here I would like to mention an evangelist who witnessed mighty miracles in his life. He had seen people walking out of the wheelchair, fatal cancers being healed, tumors disappearing, and many such miracles during his journey as an evangelist. When that person reached the age of around sixty, he himself was sick. He was taken away in the spirit to heaven and witnessed the glory of God. When he returned back into his body, another mighty evangelist was beside him, who wanted to pray over him and to heal him. The sick evangelist refused to do so as he had witnessed the hope of a believer and tasted the glory of God in Heaven. So, he did not want to be healed and live on this earth.
